The Nissan Qashqai e-POWER has completed a second real-world long-distance challenge with a full lap of Tasmania on a single tank. Its real-world e-POWER hybrid technology showcases its efficiency with its latest long-distance driving. This builds on the vehicles Land’s End to John O’Groats achievement in the United Kingdom highlighting Nissan’s award-winning hybrid technology with EV-like driving.

The two driving experiences highlight Nissan’s e-POWER hybrid technology and how it performs consistently across different climates, driving conditions and terrains. This emphasises the technology’s suitability for everyday European driving.

The Nissan Qashqai e-POEWR completed the Land’s End to John O’Groats route in the United Kingdom under typical European driving conditions which includes urban cruising, motorway driving, and various weather conditions.

During this journey, the Qashqai e-POWER achieved 1,347km travelled with a single tank of fuel, and 160km remaining at the end of the drive. With this challenge, Nissan e-POWER hybrid technology highlights the responsiveness of electric driving with the convenience and long-distance usability of a traditional combustion-engine vehicle.

The Tasmania challenge featured a route with winding coastal roads, elevation changes and mountainous terrain. It further showcased the real-world performance of the Nissan Qashqai e-POWER with over 1,300km travelled on a single tank and a complete lap of Tasmania without refuelling.

Nissan’s e-POWER features award-winning hybrid technology with the petrol engine generating electricity. The wheels are entirely driven only by an electric motor. Nissan’s 5-in-1 integrated modular powertrain paired with the redesigned 1.5 turbocharged engine, the Qashqai e-POWER delivers a blend of electrified performance with everyday usability.

With its class-leading fuel efficiency of 4.5L/100km and improved thermal efficiency. The Nissan Qashqai’s electric motor offers instant torque, smooth acceleration and a refined EV-like driving experience.

It was recognised as ‘Hybrid Car of the Year 2025’ at the News UK Motor Awards.

“These two journeys demonstrate the consistency and capability of the latest generation of e?POWER across very different driving environments. Whether on long motorway routes in the United Kingdom or more demanding terrain in Tasmania, Qashqai e?POWER continues to deliver the same balance of efficiency, refinement and EV-like driving performance. Nissan’s e?POWER hybrid technology represents how Nissan continues to evolve the hybrid SUV through advanced hybrid technologies designed around real customer driving needs.”
