Auto Trader has named the Nissan Qashqai the winner of the Road Test August 2024, beating the Kia Sportage. In the test, the judge tested both the car in real-life situations, including on the road, specifications, and overall running costs.
The Qashqai impressed Auto Trader with its unique design, which the Sportage lacks. Replacing the pervious U-shaped grile with a much wider unit that blends into the light for a seamless and sleek design. The front also benefits from the car's sharp headlights with a more dramatic design thanks to the lower triangular sections.
Inside the Qashqai, it comes with a host of features that spring the SUV into first place, like the 12.3-inch digital driver’s display with adaptive cruise control with lane centring and built-in Google Maps. Below the touchscreen, you can benefit from nifty shortcut buttons and a classy volume dial for easy to use and convenience while driving.
The Nissan Qashqai was leaps and bounds ahead of the Kia Sportage in the performance and technology categories. The Qashqai is a lot more responsive than the Sportage, making it feel quicker in the real world and making the engine more refined. As the Qashqai features, the sharper and faster built-in Google Maps gives the SUV a huge leap forward and makes the Kia’s technology feel dated. The Qashqai also had a small advantage in the efficiency categories; however, the SUV’s are very similar.
