Nissan and Octopus Join Together to Launch EV Charging App

Nissan and Octopus Energy have joined together to launch Nissan’s Charge app. This highlights Nissan’s commitment to making electric vehicle ownership easier and smoother for the customers.

Nissan drivers are now allowed to charge their vehicles with over 1 million charging points from over 1,200 operators, such as IONITY, Allego, or TotalEnergies. The app, which is now available to download, ensures a seamless and intuitive charging experience.

500 chargers are being added to the platform every day, allowing easy access to charging points for drivers to find when they need it. New users can create their own account swiftly and request a free Nissan Charge card to get started.

“As EVs become mainstream, drivers want a charging experience as smart as their vehicle. By bringing our cutting-edge technology into the Nissan Charge app, we’re delivering the best of Electroverse – simple access to 80% of all chargers across Europe, money-saving discounts, and quick, hassle-free payments. It’s great to see Nissan embracing Electroverse’s technology to make charging simpler, smarter, and ready for their customers.”

Matt Davies, Director at Octopus Electroverse

It features key functions to help support users with their daily commute and long-journeys. Users are able to access real-time information for charging costs and pay using Google or Apple Pay.

Future plans for the app include Plug & Charge to make it more secure when it comes to charging, and Vehicle-to-Grid which allows drivers to reduce their home charging by having their car batteries support grid stabilisation and feed energy back to the grid when needed.
