Hybrid

A hybrid car has both petrol engine and an electric motor that is used to power the wheels. The battery is charged through braking as well as combustion engine.

e-POWER

The e-POWER has a combination of a petrol engine to charge the battery and an electric motor. The vehicle relies solely on the electric motor for power however still requires petrol. 

100% electric

An 100% electric car​ has a electric motor that is powered by a battery therefore no petrol is required. Electric cars needs to be plugged in to charge the battery.

How to Charge my Electric Car?

Home charging has become the most popular way for owners to charge their cars with 85% of Nissan LEAF owners choosing to charge at home. Charging at home is a lot easier with the 7kW home charger from our partners, E.ON Drive or Pod Point.

Out and About

With electric cars becoming more popular, there are now thousands of public charging points up and down the country. There are actually more charging points than petrol stations across the UK and using Zapmap helps you local your nearest point.

How long is the warranty on the battery?

Both Nissan LEAF and ARIYA, you have an 8 year or 100,000 miles battery state of health guarantee, protecting you if your battery capacity falls below 9 out of 12 bars within this duration. For the hybrids, In addition to the new vehicle warranty that covers your new vehicle (3 years or 60,000 miles), components such as the motor and the Lithium-Ion battery will be covered by an electrified components warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles.

Do electric cars have gears?

No, they are all automatic.

What is a kilowatt hour (KWH)?

A kilowatt hour (kWh) is how much energy is needed to run the vehicle for 1 hour at a given consumption rate.

What happens if the battery in a hybrid goes flat?

Luckily, there is no need to worry about this situation occurring. If the battery charge is low, the vehicle will switch the petrol engine back on to charge the hybrid battery.
