What ID do I need to bring when I pick up the vehicle?

You will need your driving licence, your identification documents and your valid credit card. Your confirmation email details exactly what you need to bring on the day of rental.


Is there a minimum / maximum age for renting a vehicle?

The minimum age is 25 and you must have held your license for a minimum of 12 months if you are renting from VWFS Rent-a-Car. Restrictions apply if you are over 75 years of age.

In order to hire any ID model you must have held your license for 24 months.


Can I add additional drivers?

Additional drivers must be expressly identified on the Rental Agreement. All persons wishing to drive must provide their license and be validated with our insurance to ensure they can be covered and sign the rental agreement on pick up.


Am I guaranteed the vehicle I book?

Yes we guarantee the vehicle you book is the vehicle you will get. However, if (in the rare circumstances) the vehicle you have reserved is not available when you come to pick-up the vehicle then you will not be required to pay any of the total charges stated on your reservation confirmation (and you will be given a full refund of any amounts you have paid in advance).


When do I have to return the vehicle?

The vehicle should be returned to the agreed rental location at the latest date and time shown on the Rental Agreement document. The rental period will end when you return the vehicle to this location and hand the vehicle keys to the Rental Manager or their representative. We will allow a 60 minute tolerance period at the end of the rental before further charges apply. Please always contact your rental location if you need to extend the booking or if you know you are going to be late for any reason. We will always try our best to accommodate your requirements.


Is fuel included in the rental price?

No, fuel is not included. We operate a same-to-same fuel policy, meaning we expect the same amount of fuel in the vehicle when you return the vehicle as there was when you collected it.


Is insurance included?

Yes, the insurance is a comprehensive policy, covering damage to the rental vehicle, third party damage and fire and theft. Our van rental insurance excess is £1,000 as standard. Those aged over 25 are eligible for the enhanced collision damage waiver, which would reduce the excess to £250.


Are your vans pet friendly?

We have selected vans which are pet-friendly; simply choose the pet-friendly option when you are completing your booking. (This will be subject to a Valet Charge)


What essentials do I need to bring?

You should consider the following essentials for your trip including bedding, towels, pet accessories, first aid kit, toilet roll and kitchen roll.
