Since 2019, CUPRA has been making its mark on the padel court, partnering with projects and like-minded people who share its ambition to challenge the status quo. As one of Europe’s fastest-growing sports, padel has become an important part of CUPRA’s journey, with the brand continuing to support its growth and shape its future.
Bringing together seven of the world’s top padel players as CUPRA brand ambassadors, we’re taking our passion for the sport to new heights and continuing to inspire the world from Barcelona.
CUPRA continues to strengthen its presence in the world of padel in several ways, from growing the CUPRA Padel Tribe to extending its sponsorship of the International Padel Federation and establishing a new partnership with Premier Padel.
In May 2024, CUPRA UK announced its official partnership with the Pro Am Padel Tour, supporting the continued growth and evolution of padel across the UK. The tour brings together leading British padel professionals and high-profile enthusiasts from the worlds of sport, business and entertainment across a series of four tournaments held throughout the country.
In 2025, the tour introduced an exciting new team format featuring celebrity captains, including comedian Jason Manford and former England rugby player Joe Marler. Each captain led a team of six celebrities, six professional padel players and two rising stars from the UK’s next generation of padel talent.
This year’s tour delivered four action-packed events at leading padel venues across the UK, beginning in Beckton, East London, before heading to Leeds and Stockport and returning to London for the grand finale in Canary Wharf. Held on 14 October at Padium Padel, the final saw teams captained by Joleon Lescott, Dion Dublin and Jason Manford compete for victory and the opportunity to donate the £11,500 Captain’s Fund to their chosen charity.
With the biggest turnout of the year, the final delivered an electrifying finish. Team Lescott emerged victorious, securing a lead of more than 20 points and winning the £11,500 fund for Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Charity Burns Unit.
Padel embodies the values at the heart of CUPRA: uniqueness, sophistication and performance. From its unconventional beginnings, these qualities have been part of the sport’s DNA. The story began in 1969, when a tennis player, frustrated by balls landing in his neighbour’s garden, decided to build a wall. That simple idea sparked the creation of a new sport.
Combining elements of tennis, squash and fronton, padel has evolved into one of the world’s most exciting racket sports. Played on an enclosed court, it challenges players to use the walls to their advantage, blending strategy, precision and athletic ability in a fast-paced and dynamic game.
Much like CUPRA, padel challenges convention and pushes boundaries. Both share a bold, innovative spirit, constantly redefining expectations and reimagining what performance can mean.
Today, padel is one of Europe’s fastest-growing sports, and CUPRA is committed to being part of its exciting journey. Together, we’ll channel our challenger spirit, fuelled by passion, thrills and emotion, to grow our tribe and bring the sport to more people across Europe and beyond. And we won’t stop challenging convention, pushing boundaries and inspiring one another to go further and achieve the extraordinary.
