Owner of vw crafter , had drive shaft issue , booked it in with vw vans Exeter , was promptly met by technician Charlie , he said approx 3-4 hrs to complete work , after 2.5hrs he called saying all was completed, a great rapid service by Charlie and the workshop team , very impressed with the whole process . Extra to this Charlie and Ellie ( service advisor in vw vans ) learnt of my partners intention to buy a used car and advised us to look around the seat/ cupra dealer side of things , they passed us on to Brad in sales for Cupra cars who in turn sold us a lovely 2 yr old car , again very impressed with Brad and Sam in sales for taking us through the whole car buying process . I recently had an urgent problem with my 2025 VW Transporter, and visited Yeomans VW Exeter on Saturday 17th January 2025. It was critically urgent as we were travelling to Europe on business, on the 26th January for two months. The workshop was completely booked out, but after meeting with CAROLINE BRADDON (our first saviour) and explaining the problem. She first checked the availability of the part, that may be required, (confirming they could source in time) then arranged for the technician CHARLIE LOWES (our second saviour) to pop out of the workshop and discuss the issue. CHARLIE LOWES, confirmed the workshop was full, but asked me to drop the vehicle off on Monday evening the 19th January. We left the vehicle, which CHARLIE LOWES, then test drove. He admitted the vehicle to the workshop Tuesday 20th January for a full inspection. CAROLINE BRADDON then called later on Tuesday 19th January to confirm the vehicle had been inspected, was ready for collection and fully fit to drive. On collection both CAROLINE BRADDON and CHARLIE LOWES, came over to hand over the vehicle and wish us luck on our two month business trip. There is so much more to this story, not least the fact that a different garage, had informed us, that our four month old 2025 VW Transporter, was unfit to drive and required urgent repairs. In addition, we were informed the part required was on back order and unobtainable, even when I requested this be expedited, given the urgency of our situation. The first garage was well aware of our deadline for travelling to Europe on the 26th January and that we needed the van for this. The vehicle had only gone into the garage for a routine check, (slight scraping noise on full lock). It was booked in on the 15th January 2025. We travel to Europe for two months each winter, buying stock for our business, for the coming seasons. We required our van to do this, we also stood to lose £10,000s of pounds, in cancellation costs for accommodation and venues booked throughout Europe. The stress of being told by the first garage that the van was unsafe to drive and that the part we required was unobtainable, led to many tearful nights from my wife. I had looked into flying and renting a van, but apart from the £1000s in rental cost, any companies I contacted, then refused to allow me to bring the vehicle back into the UK. CAROLINE BRADDON and CHARLIE LOWES, were amazing! They showed a great understanding of the urgency of the situation. They acted in a compassionate and professional manner, going way above the call of duty, in order to facilitate a successful outcome. Honestly I just can't praise them highly enough. First time st Yeoman's Van centre for a service on out T6.1 van. The booking was great and online check in seemed pretty simple. On arrival, the car park was absolute chaos, with people having to dump vehicles everywhere and I had concerns about my van being damaged while parked there. It was a first service so I waited and worked at one of the provided desks in the showroom, and was informed of bathroom facilities and free hot drinks which were all good. On visiting the bathroom it was well appointed and clean, but damaged toilet roll holder and lack of attention to detail was disappointing. My vehicle was serviced fairly quickly as it was only a check and oil change but the requested courtesy wash was not completed when I was told that my vehicle was ready. I returned to the showroom to ask why, as it was a specific question in the online check in. I was offered that they would take the vehicle back and do the wash after I raised the issue, but I declined as I had already packed up my work equipment and was ready to leave. I found that although the dealership was generally ok, it was let down by the atrocious car parking situation and the attention to detail. Bottom line... I will probably choose somewhere else to get my vehicle serviced next time.

I recently ordered a Transporter Kombi through Yeomans VW Exeter and was looked after by Dimitri throughout the process. I have to say, he’s been outstanding from start to finish. His communication was clear, timely and genuinely helpful. He followed up when needed, laid out comparisons in a straightforward way, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Proper top-class service. I’d looked at similar vans elsewhere, some even cheaper, but the reason I chose VW in the end was because of Dimitri. Good service matters, and he delivered it in spades. Excellent and Efficient Service – Thank You, Abdul I had a very positive experience at the Yeomans Volkswagen garage in Exeter. I was en route to a long trip across Europe and urgently needed a daytime running bulb replaced. Another garage had incorrectly advised me that the whole unit would need replacing, which was stressful given the time pressure. I contacted the Exeter branch and spoke with Abdul in the Parts Department, who was both helpful and reassuring. He confirmed they had the correct part in stock and kindly arranged for a technician to fit the bulb later the same day. The entire process, including topping up my coolant, took about 15 minutes and was handled efficiently. Staff were friendly and professional throughout, and I also appreciated that my (well-behaved) dog was welcomed in the waiting area. I’m grateful to Abdul for his clear communication and willingness to help at short notice — a great example of excellent customer service.

What a contrast to Carrs! It’s an absolute pleasure to deal with Yeomans. Their staff and in particular Fiona and Caroline are friendly, keen to work with, and assist the customer. There is a happy welcoming atmosphere in the showroom and at the service desk which is literally chalk and cheese to Carrs. There seems to be plenty of staff and although busy they’re all ready to help or just say hi. The vehicle was done on time with no hassle, a biscuit for the dog, a mocha and I was on my way. Such a relief to walk out the door feeling like this. My wife might even come in one day- something she vowed never to do again at Carrs. The workshop is excellent. I have also never experienced such good service. While on holiday in our VW T6 campervan on Dartmoor, a bus knocked off our right-hand mirror. We rang the garage in Exceter. An employee immediately came 30 miles out onto Dartmoor to help us fix the mirror so that we could drive. The car was then repaired in the workshop the next day. To shorten the time, a member of staff drove us into the town centre, which we were able to see, and picked us up again once the repair was complete. Anyone who needs help is in very good hands at the workshop. The staff are also uncomplicated and flexible and really take care of the customer's problem. You feel very well looked after

All round 5 Star Service I had to call VW Assist (I had bought a 2 year extended VW warranty package). They promptly attended; my van was on the drive with warning lights being displayed on the dash and a loss of power. After the technician had done as much as he could, he advised me that it would be best to have the vehicle recovered. This was also done in a timely fashion, being kept informed of arrival time and a loan vehicle provided. My van was taken to Yeomen’s VW van centre Exeter, Caroline from Yeoman’s confirmed receipt of the van and advised me it would be looked at as soon as possible. In just over a day or so, Caroline contacted me again to advise me the van had been looked at and would require new parts which had been ordered. 2 working days later Caroline contacted me to say it was ready for collection. I know that most, if not all VW commercial dealers are very busy and to have my vehicle returned to me in such a relatively short period of time well exceeded my expectations. I was given regular updates (which I liked) and excellent customer service. Thank you, a very happy customer.

We dropped our T6 4motion in for a service and check up at Yeomans Exeter at 5.30 one evening. I was surprised to receive a call before 10 the next morning saying it was finished and ready for collection. When we collected the van we used our spare key to check it. There where a few items I deliberately did not tell the service team. We were please to see all ltems had been attended to. They also cleaned the van to a very good standard My only comment would be, I would like to see the front meet and greet desk manned.

The only reason for 4 stars is because whilst sat there yesterday going through the options we were left uncomfortable as was Tony and other staff by the way the large lady was speaking to a customer, she was talking to the customer like she was a naughty child, this member of staff should be sacked immediately or possibly retrained, you never speak to customers in that way no matter what the husband said to you on the phone! She maybe better suited working for Lidl or Aldi.

*Reduced to 3 stars* I spent £1800 on van repairs and asked three times for it to have the complimentary wash as in previous experience here they haven't done it. They assured me it would be washed on collection and despite leaving my van there for 28 hours, it was not done. It may sound pedantic but why offer a complementary service if you're not going to carry it out? I'm sure the work carried out has been done well, but it's about attention to detail and things like that leave a sour taste, especially when you're spending an extortionate amount of money. It doesn't make you feel like a valued customer. Previous review: Amazing service this year - was given a hire van whilst ours was being serviced which was an added bonus. Everything was very thorough and all explained at the end of the service to show what had been done.

Booked in for an Interim Service. Van also had a recall for Bowden cables which I was originally advised would have to be booked in separately. I was greeted by Phil and after I explained I lived an hour and a half away from the garage he said he would try and get the cable looked at today during the service. He advised it would take 3 to 4 hours but after I explained I had an appointment back home the van was ready in 2 and a half hours and the cable replaced! Dropping off was speedy which is what I need and on collection I received a thorough explanation of all the jobs done and diagnostic report. Just purchased a vw caddy from this company and i have to applaud them on their service. I had been searching for a the right van for a while and came across one sold by these guys. I rang and spoke to a chap called harry who in my opinion is an absaloute asset to the company, he went out of his way to get me the deal i was looking for and was very polite and courteous throughout the sale. He even managed to get the deal done and wrapped up on the thursday and get me the van delivered the next day. But it doesn't finish there, he also personally went over all the option in terms of gap insurance to make me aware but without a single wiff or trying to hard sell me anything i didn't need. I would recommend this company to anyone without hesitation. Thanks again guys!

After my van, from Exeter diesels, broke down for the 10th time I went to Carrs to try and get a replacement van. After the woeful service from Exeter diesels I was very weary of dealerships. Being a busy plumbing and heating engineer I needed a van quick. Max from Carrs commercial VW came to my rescue. In less than a week I had the perfect nearly new van I had always wanted. Even with all the current restrictions the service I received was second to none and was made simple, stress free. Max’s attention to detail was excellent, every little detail I brought up he already covered. I got the trade in price I needed on my old van and I picked up the new one all in less than a week. I ordered new seat covers and mats for the van, but due to an unforeseeable delay they didn’t arrive in time for when I picked up the van. The next day Max came to my house in the evening and fitted the covers and mats in his own time. I really cannot recommend Carrs and Max enough. A friendly, professional dealership. Thanks again.

I had a issue with poor mpg on my van that was reported to them nearly 2 years ago (vans a 17plate t6 6speed 150) problem was over looked and always had a excuse, got to the point where I gave up with them knowing full well what the problem was (dodgy injectors) and had to look to replacing them my self as I had already paid to do a leak off test and pressure test of the cylinders elsewhere, I also have had battery issues, again go on t6 owners page on Facebook and this is a well known problem with defect battery’s, took them 2 weeks back in 2018 to “Investigate” and swap it over. My clutch died at 30k miles and took the duel mass with it again they didn’t want to know and I took it down to Plymouth where they were very helpful. Then my faith in Exeter vans was restored when I got a call from Peter the after sales manager who was very embarrassed about the whole situation and couldn’t do enough to help me. He really did make me feel like he cared which isn’t much but after that amount of problems and getting turned away so many times it was a massive welcome and I can’t recommend him enough. My Vans is doing nearly 20mpg better now and drives so much nicer, I still have a gearbox issue with it shuddering but this is something they have said they will investigate further as I feel it could just be a defected DMF. Overall happy with how I was finally taken care of past dealings and some staff were enough to put me off but I will be going back again now and at some point getting another transporter. 👍🏻

I have a T6, purchased from Carrs. Only 18 months old now & 2560 miles on the clock. Today, having not driven it for a week, the battery was absolutely flat - dead, no life at all - would not turn over. Called the VW Assistance [AA] & they were brilliant. Arrived within the hour & put a test on the battery, which showed barely 7.5amps. Tried to jump start it off his portable battery - nothing. Eventually started it off the AA van. Ran it for 10 minutes or so & stated it would likely take another 20 minutes to improve & the battery needs replacing. I went on line & it appears to be a common problem with T6 vans with the batteries made in South Africa. Rang Carrs Service Dept - polite but not overly helpful & denied there was a T6 battery problem. I have to deliver the van to Exeter from Newton Abbot next week, leave it over night & go back the next day, with great difficulty in arranging transport due to no curtesy cars.Not only losing out on work but a pain in the butt. Now the AA report the fault to VW & one would have sensibly thought Carrs would have taken their word on the battery state - no. Not at all pleased. No wonder I was advised by a friend not to get it serviced there. Follow up from Carrs: The next morning at 9.10 I had a call from Peter, the After Sales Manager - I explained my side & he theirs. Thankfully the issue has been resolved & the van is to be picked up & returned by them, saving me an awful lot of hassle - Thank you, I am grateful! Hopefully this new After Sales Manager will continue to restore faith for customers.

Carrs Volkswagen Van Centre in Exeter went above and beyond to help me with a view to purchase a van on Motability. Motability is new to me and I felt comfortable discussing the disability challenges that I personally face. Very friendly staff who are all knowledgeable in their field unlike other dealers I've approached. Jeremy and Pete were who I dealt with, but all were equally approachable. The friendly service was a breath of fresh air compared to the experience I had with a dealer more local to me. Sie haben das Reserverad demontiert, wir konnten das mit dem Wunschreifen aufgezogen am nächsten Morgen um 10 Uhr wieder montieren lassen. Tolle Leistung, Danke.
