At Volkswagen we are celebrating the love for our cars, from honouring cherished memories and to those who have embraced the electric future.

The stories below are from Volkswagen owners who joined the Volkswagen family and would like to share their experiences.

Becky's Story.

I'm a busy, full-time-working mum with two young girls, two dogs and own an ID.3.

I learnt to drive and passed my test in my first VW, the Up! then I moved onto a VW Tiguan. I loved the sunroof on the Tiguan, after that I said I would always have a sunroof because it creates such light. And now with my ID.3, with its big glass sunroof, it creates so much light in the car.

I really love my ID.3. We use it daily to run errands around town and for dog walks. One of the great things about the ID.3 is that, being electric, it's a really quiet car. Very often we find that the girls can be asleep within a few minutes of being in the car because it’s so peaceful. Driving is almost like a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle of life, a moment for me to put on some music and just enjoy driving. I really do enjoy driving this car.

"We step into the car, and everything just seems to calm down, the girls settle down and we have a nice peaceful drive."

Rohit's Story.

Hi, I'm Rohit. And this is Binu.

I think we’re literally the VW family. My first car was a Golf and I have driven Volkswagens ever since. We've got an Up!(which our Son drives), a Golf, a Passat and now we've got the ID.5.I mean, Volkswagens are the only cars we've ever had. My first car was a Volkswagen Golf. I've always had Golfs after that. How many have I had? Let me see, I had the Mk4, Mk5 and then obviously Mk7 and the Mk8 now.

When we decided to go electric, we knew that the ID.5 was going to be the obvious choice. Reliability was just the most paramount thing. The ID.5 also has a prestige about it, a luxury about it, but it's still so grounded.

Rewind to about a year back, I would have been against EVs generally. There was a lot of negativity out there from people. I had the same views that, they’re not reliable. But it’s proven to be a very reliable car. Once you own one your opinion totally changes.

"Put simply, the ID.5 keeps us safe and comfortable and gets us to the places we want to go."

Ken & Lyn's Story.

We are Ken and Lyn, we live in Argyll in Scotland. We’re volunteer drivers doing drop-offs for people going to hospitals in Glasgow. The patients we drive are having chemotherapy and radiotherapy. All they want is to be home.

The drives we do as transport volunteers, are from Argyll to Glasgow and back, which is nearly a 200-mile round-trip. It costs me £4 in the ID.4. Petrol would have been £25. Our ID.4 probably does anything up to 300 journeys to Glasgow or Oban in a year, which is why it's done 130,000 miles. It’s an important job to get people to hospital and then get them safely home again, and this has been the perfect car for the job. And with the heated seats, there’s comfort for front and back seat passengers.

We love that you can heat up the car early for the passengers. They love it. They need the comfort. I’m so comfortable in this car and it makes it such a lovely experience - you want more comfort as you get older.

"We were told you can’t have an electric car where you live. I went for it to prove them all wrong."

Luke's Story.

In 1971, my uncle bought a new Beetle, and he naturally called it Herbie. It's the first car I worked on. I was 13 years old. I financed my degree in Economics at Roehampton by buying, selling and restoring Beetles. After my graduation, I bought a garage with my business partner at the time.

I've restored cars here ever since then. I met my wife Helen through the garage. She used to be a customer of mine and I’d give her good discounts, you know, when my business partner wasn’t looking.

My business is in West London. We restore cars to a very nice standard. We do custom work, but I prefer to make them look the way they did when they left the factory. I personally own around 30 cars, two of which are particularly important to me. My two favourites are easily, my green convertible, which we call ‘Olive,’ that's the car I had my first date in with my wife... and Herbie.

"My whole life revolves around VW. Running the business has bought me my house and put a roof over the heads of my children. I’ve loved it, you just enjoy every day."
