AM I ELIGIBLE FOR THE MOTABILITY SCHEME?

The Motability Scheme has no age limit for applying, making it suitable for everyone. Plus you don't have to operate the vehicle yourself, when making your application you can choose up to two nominated drivers. Only one of your named drivers can be under the age of 21 and they should all ideally live within five miles of your address.

When you apply, every nominated driver must agree to the terms and conditions of the Motability Scheme and provide their details and driving license information.

To apply for the Motability Scheme, you must have at least 12 months left on your allowance. If you have less, you will need to wait until your allowance provider has renewed your allowance.

If you receive a lower rate or component of mobility allowance or Attendance Allowance, you cannot apply to join the scheme.

You can apply to join the Motability Scheme if you receive one of the following disability allowances:

Higher rate mobility part of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Higher rate mobility part of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)

Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
