Reserving your next car couldn’t be easier with Yeomans – it can all be done from the comfort of your own home. We’ll outline the basics of the process here, but if you have any further questions you can scroll to read our frequently asked questions answered, too. If we don't address your query, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
The first step involves searching through our extensive stock of new and used vehicles. Once you’ve found the vehicle you’d like to buy, you can place a reservation fee to secure it. We’ll check the car is still available and send you a confirmation email.
This sets the ball rolling towards your new vehicle, which is being held for you for the next 48 hours. We’ll endeavour to get in touch with you within two hours of the reservation being confirmed at the details you’ve provided to organise collection or delivery.
As part of the process, you can either pay the full amount for the vehicle up front, or organise finance through one of our approved partners. Don’t worry if you’re declined by our preferred partner, we work with various lenders to help customers with varying credit scores. You can also check whether you might be accepted without affecting your credit score through our free credit checker.
Great news – you’ve decided to reserve a car online! The process starts with you paying a £99 reservation fee, where you’ll be asked to enter your personal details, address and payment card information. Once you click “submit payment”, the fee will be debited from the account associated with that card immediately.
If you want to finance some or all of the balance you will also be asked to provide the relevant additional information that we will require to process the application.
If you have a part exchange you can get an instant valuation and include it as part of the purchase.
Once you’ve submitted your £99 deposit payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email. However, this does not mean your reservation has been accepted – all reservations are subject to confirmation by us, once we’ve checked the vehicle is still available.
Once we confirm the reservation has been accepted, you will receive a “Reservation Confirmation” email. This reserves the vehicle for 48 hours, and we’ll be in touch to discuss what’s needed next to complete the purchase.
After making your reservation we will hold the car for 48 hours while we arrange the finance or payment of the balance and agree a date for you to collect the car from the selling dealership at the earliest opportunity. We will try to contact you through the phone number and email address that you have provided at the earliest opportunity once you have placed your reservation to arrange this, although this will only be during normal working hours.
Yes, all prices advertised online are the same as those you get at the dealership.
If you want to finance the vehicle you should have already provided us with the details that we need to process this as part of the online reservation. We’re happy to field any questions you might have about financing your vehicle purchase – just give us a call.
To obtain a settlement figure on your current vehicle you should call the finance provider. Alternatively we will be happy to obtain this for you.
Of course, you don’t have to finance the vehicle - just let us know how you wish to pay.
There are no additional charges unless you have requested additional options at the point of reservation. These will be clearly listed before you make your purchase and are added to the total cost so there are no surprises later.
We do offer this service for a fee.
The finance application is processed immediately and the decision usually takes a matter of minutes. We will inform you if your application is successful at the earliest opportunity. If your finance application is unsuccessful a member of the Yeomans team will be in touch to discuss further options.
In some cases, our chosen lender may ask you to complete additional checks before agreeing to the finance agreement. This could include (but not be limited to) identity checks, confirmation of personal details such as date of birth or address, and evidence of affordability. If this happens, we’ll let you know what’s required. Once you meet the requirements, we will be able to proceed with your finance agreement.
To apply for finance you must be over 18 and acceptance is subject to status. A guarantee may be required in some cases. There are two types of finance available: personal contract purchase (PCP) and hire purchase (HP).
With hire purchase, you pay an initial deposit followed by fixed monthly payments that pay off the remainder of the vehicle’s value. The terms are usually across one to five years, and the finance company owns the vehicle until you make the final payment.
If you settle early, you will be offered a rebate of some of the interest. However, with a small initial deposit, you might find that settling early results in the amount owed being more than the value of the vehicle.
This is better-suited to buyers that want to keep their vehicles for a long time, have a large deposit, or simply want no commitment at the end of the term.
In principle, PCP is very similar to HP, in that there’s an initial deposit followed by monthly payments. However, you’re effectively paying for the depreciation on the vehicle rather than the full price. Therefore, at the end of the term, there will be a large payment of what the car is now worth, often called a Guaranteed Manufacturer’s Future Value or balloon payment.
That means the monthly payments and deposit are often much lower than with HP. The vehicle will be guaranteed to be worth a certain price at the end of the term, assuming it is kept in good condition and you haven’t gone over the agreed annual mileage limit.
There are three options at the end of the term:
Firstly, you can make the final payment by giving the vehicle back to the finance company.
Secondly, you can keep the vehicle by paying the large payment.
And finally, if the vehicle is worth more than the pre-agreed value, you could hand it back and use the excess value as part-exchange against a new vehicle.
PCP finance is suitable for buyers who would like a new vehicle regularly, but the downside is that if you like your car you might feel forced into switching every two or three years to avoid paying the final amount. Another advantage, though, is that the lower payments open up more expensive vehicles to you.By working with various flexible lenders, we’re able to fund customers with varying credit situations. In most situations, we can find a lender that works for the customer’s personal circumstances. Should you be declined by any of our lenders, we’ll let you know and ask if you’d like us to speak to an alternative.
You can read the terms and conditions around amending or cancelling your order here. However, before you cancel, we’d like to try and help you, so please contact us to discuss this further.
The cooling off period of 14 days, known as your Right to Withdraw, gives you the option to cancel the finance agreement but retain ownership of the vehicle provided you pay the balance, as confirmed by the lender, within 30 days of withdrawing from the agreement.
How do I make a complaint?
We work hard to ensure our customers receive excellent customer service. However, we accept that sometimes we get it wrong and that we need those issues brought to our attention. When this happens, we will try to resolve them as quickly as possible. In the first instance we would recommend that you contact the selling dealership and ask for the General Manager.
Although we will give our all to help our customers where possible, if you are still not satisfied with what’s happened and the explanation we have provided, we recommend you contact The Motor Ombudsman, the automotive dispute resolution body.
It is a fully impartial ombudsman focused solely on the automotive industry, ensuring self regulation through a Codes of Practice approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. You can contact them at https://www.themotorombudsman.org or through the advice line at 0345 241 3008* (option 1). Their decision is legally binding on both Yeomans and you as the customer.
