At Yeomans DS, we’re proud to be involved in the Motability Scheme, enabling drivers with disabilities to have more independence and be able to travel around more easily. The Motability Scheme is a national charity dedicated to helping war pensioners and disabled people become more mobile.

If you benefit from a Mobility Allowance, you can use it towards the Motability Scheme to get a vehicle and adapt it to suit your needs. At Yeomans DS, we have a choice of vehicles available on the Motability scheme including electric, hybrid, petrol or diesel models, plus many of our vehicles can be adapted free of charge.

How Does The Motability Scheme Work?

By using the Motability Scheme, you can exchange your government funded mobility allowance for a brand new car. Many cars are available with NIL or low-cost advance payment to suit your budget.

The scheme includes breakdown and accident cover, and insurance for up to three named drivers. Drivers can also benefit from maintenance and servicing including tyre and windscreen replacements when required – meaning there is very little to worry about in this all-inclusive scheme, you can three years of worry-free motoring.

Am I Eligible For The DS Motability Scheme?

In order to be eligible for the Motability Scheme, you first need to check your current situation against the criteria. Our Motability experts will always be able to help you in checking your status, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. However, should you wish to check whether or not you’re eligible for the scheme before contacting us, you should ensure that you are in receipt of one of the following and have at least 12 months’ reward remaining:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
  • Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)


Can I Adapt My Vehicle?

For those with specific needs, a range of adaptions are available and can be arranged to ensure that your journey is comfortable. Our cars can be adapted in terms of stowage, driving and access to make your life easier and to create an enjoyable and convenient driving experience

Not all adaptions will be compatible with every DS motability car, so please speak to our Motability experts who will be able to assist.
