The Caddy California is the most compact member of the California family, offering comfort and connectivity. With a spacious foldout bed, versatile mini kitchen and the optional Digital Cockpit, the Caddy California is the perfect companion for any adventure. Choose between three engines, ranging from the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine which has a power output of 114 PS and is available with manual or DSG gearboxes, or the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine which is available in 102 PS manual or 122 PS DSG variants. All of these engines meet the latest emission standards and are equipped with particle filters. The optional panoramic sunroof brightens the interior, offering a clear view of the sky above. For carrying any additional equipment you can use the optional tow bar, which can be attached and removed easily without the need for tools.
The spacious foldable bed measures 1,980 mm x 1,070 mm and offers underneath storage, making good use of the compact interior. The disc-spring mattress provides a comfortable night’s sleep, whilst the optional panoramic sunroof makes the experience even more magical. The pull-out kitchen has a two metre standing space and consists of a one-burner gas stove with plenty of storage, including a cutlery drawer. Plus, you can equip blinds to every window for extra privacy. Other features include spacious rear seats, air conditioning and fold-down tables on the back of the front seats.
The Composition Colour system has an 8.25-inch touchscreen, whilst the more advanced Discover navigation system has a 10-inch display. These digital displays allow users to browse radio stations, take calls, enter destinations, access We Connect and streaming services and control the air conditioning via the touchscreen or voice commands. We Connect offers customers a range of online features, which can be operated via your phone, infotainment system or through a laptop at home.
Showcasing some of Volkswagen’s most advanced driver assistance systems, the Caddy California is both reliable and safe. Front Assist with City Emergency Braking operates when you’re travelling between 3 mph and 52 mph and automatically detects pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles, warning you if you are at risk of a collision. The Caddy is fully equipped for longer journeys, thanks to Cruise Control with speed limiter and Active Lane Assist as standard. The Parking Alert monitors the road as you reverse out of a parking space, registering any oncoming hazards and applying the brakes if it detects a possible collision.
