Combine the diminutive 595 with a 1.4-litre 177bhp engine and you know you’re in for an exciting ride. Add to that a blend of Italian chic and sporty Abarth styling and you have a car which is hard to resist – the Competizione.
The jewel in the crown of the Abarth 595 range, the Competizione has a wealth of additional features to enhance the look and performance of the car. Headlights are upgraded to bi-xenon for greater visibility, and door mirrors have anthracite grey surrounds. Koni shock absorbers are fitted both at the front and the rear and the Competizione also features the Record Monza exhaust system with four tail pipes. Brakes are manufactured by Brembo, and consist of four-piston aluminium fixed callipers in red, with perforated and ventilated 305x28mm discs at the front and 240x11mm discs at the rear. Diamond-cut 17-inch Corsa alloy wheels, dark tinted windows, and the Abarth side stripe in signature anthracite grey add the finishing touches to the exterior of the Competizione.
The cabin also gets the Abarth treatment we know and love, with Sabelt seats upholstered in black fabric with anthracite grey surrounds, and a leather steering wheel with carbon inserts. You also have the option to upgrade to leather and alcantara upholstery with a carbon shell. The seats provide all the support you need for the Competizione’s dynamic drive. A range of useful equipment features includes electrically adjustable door mirrors, rear parking sensor and electric power steering.
With its 1.4-litre 177bhp engine, and a weight to power ratio of 5.8kg/hp, you know that the Competizione is going to be fun to drive. It will whisk you from 0-60mph in just over 6 seconds and has a top speed of 140mph. Fuel consumption with the manual gearbox is 47mpg, 48mpg for the robotised sequential transmission. Maximum torque is 250Nm.
The Competizione is fitted with a seven-inch TFT instrument display, so you can view all the vehicle data you need at a glance. Your music can be accessed via the five-inch touchscreen DAB radio system, with USB and Bluetooth.
ESP, ABS and tyre pressure monitoring are all provided on the 595 Competizione, and a driver’s knee airbag is included in the set of seven. A Fix & Go puncture repair kit means you have the option to carry out a simple repair and be on your way to the nearest garage rather than waiting for assistance.
The only way to truly appreciate the Abarth 595 Competizione is to take it out for a spin. Phone us today to book a test drive, or just call in to our showroom in Eastbourne, where the Competizione is on display. We promise you will not be disappointed.
