New Land Cruiser V8
The new highly-specced Toyota Land Cruiser V8 SUV is an impressive vehicle.
It replaces the Land Cruiser Amazon and is available with a 4.5-litre V8 common-rail diesel through a six-speed autobox with sequential manual gear change mode.
The engine develops 282bhp at 3,600 and 480lb-ft of torque from 1,600rpm. Carbon emissions are 270g/km , while fuel economy is an official 27.7mpg on the combined cycle.
The body-on-frame construction improves ride quality and ensures the Land Cruiser can cope with the rough sutff.
Rammed with gadgetry, the Land Cruiser features adjustable 4-wheel Active Height Control and Adaptive Variable Suspension to cope with difficult terrain, limited-slip differential and all manner of more conventional active terrain and safety devices such as Multi-terrain ABS, Downhill Assist Control and Hill-start Assist Control.
Passive safety measures include a pre-crash safety system that automatically tensions the driver and passenger front seatbelts if the car senses an imminent crash, and massive 14 airbags as standard.
The new Land Cruiser seats seven, with folding second and third-row seating, with tumble-and-fold second row seats dividing 40:20:40.
A single specification includes full-map satnav, four-zone climate control system, full leather interior, Smart Entry and Start and nine-speaker Pioneer audio system with six-DVD autochanger
There´s also an optional audio pack with i-pod integration and in-car entertainment packs.
