Qashqai Green Trip

The hugely successful, British built QASHQAI has been marked out as one of the most fuel efficient vehicles currently available after being tested as part of Nissan’s own Green Program 2010.* A QASHQAI 1.5-litre diesel took 36 hours using seven drivers to travel the 867 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats on one tank of diesel. And, at the end of the journey, there was still enough diesel fuel left to travel a further 110 miles!

At a steady speed of 60mph on motorways and within speed limits on other roads, the car managed to beat its officially quoted fuel consumption figures of 52.3mpg (on a combined cycle) by averaging an astounding 67.35mpg! The car was not modified and the crew used both the QASHQAI diesel’s cruise control and fuel and energy sapping air conditioning system.

As for its green credentials, the car’s average emissions were recorded at a low 111g/km comfortably beating quoted figures of 145g/km by a wide margin. Kind to your wallet and easy on the environment, the QASHQAI has to be one car that more than matches the demanding needs of car buyers in this 21st century.
