New Honda Accord

How advanced something is depends on how you view it; a key principle Honda’s engineers considered when designing the new Accord.

At first glance, many will see a wider, lower car, while our engineers see improved aerodynamics and stability. This is because every aesthetic advance has a fundamental engineering objective.

Take the sleek lines flowing from the headlights to the wheel arches; all part of an aerodynamic design that significantly reduces nose and tail lift to improve the Accord’s overall balance. And we didn’t stop at the exterior. Once behind the wheel you’ll notice how quiet the cabin is, through a combination of improved aerodynamics working in tandem with high quality sound deadening materials throughout the body structure.

It’s exactly this balance between looks, performance and technology that make the new Accord a truly advanced driving experience.

Sharper styling.

We don’t believe in design for the sake of design.
So every aesthetic touch is balanced with engineering reasoning. The wider and lower car improves aerodynamics and stability. The sleek lines running over the grille, wing mirrors and wheel arches help reduce nose and tail lift. Inside, sophisticated sound-deadening materials make this a quiet place to be. The dashboard extends from the centre and sweeps around the seats to give the interior a cockpit-like feel

New i-DTEC engine.

How do you get quieter, smoother, cleaner and more powerful? With the newest version of our ground-breaking diesel technology. The multi-stage injection system helps make the engine fuel-efficient as well as delivering great performance. And it’s fully compliant with Euro 5 emissions regulations, just like all the rest of the engines in the range.

Diesel particulate filter.

This clever little thing works best when it’s piping hot. It burns off the nasty bits rather than trapping them, so we put it next to the engine to make sure it gets hot as quickly as possible and creates cleaner exhaust emissions faster. In fact, the whole engine was re-engineered to make sure it worked as efficiently as possible. That’s what it takes to get one step closer towards even lower emissions.

We’re big on reliability.

Refined interior.

Take the seats. Just as comfortable as your favourite chair at home. But just a little bit cleverer. Our heated and roomy seats remember the way you sit and learn to match the shape of your body. We call it ergonomics. You call it really comfortable. In any sort of impact, the headrests pop forward to stop your head from moving about quickly. And there’s even a sensor in the passenger seat, which recognises if there’s a child present and safely deploys the airbags.

Not only is the interior a very safe place to be, but it’s also super-stylish. Spacious and sculpted, it features a sporty three-spoke steering wheel and an LCD multi-information display in an attractive dCommunication

Imagine a car that learns your voice patterns. And recognizes over 550 voice commands.

Voice-activation technology lets you control the cabin climate, audio system and intuitive satellite navigation. And you can use the steering wheel controls to see mileage, temperature and destination distance on the LCD multiinformation display.

We’ll even display a reminder for when your service is due.

The ‘talkback’ directions mean you’ll always find your way wherever you are and wherever you want to end up. The Bluetooth® wireless mobile phone interface lets you talk hands free though a series of speakers and microphones fitted throughout the car.

And should you need it, we can help you park too. A rear view camera can display what’s behind you on the satellite navigation screen.

Advanced safety.

Can driving be more relaxed? Less of an effort?
Our radars think so. Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) keeps an eye on the road ahead and uses visual, audio and physical warnings to alert you to the possibility of a dangerous situation. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically adjusts your speed, so you always keep a consistent distance to the car in front. Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS) detects if you’ve drifted out of your lane and adjusts your position accordingly. And Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) makes continual adjustments to keep you exactly where you should be.

Responsive performance.

How can sharp be smooth? Or relaxed be precise? With redesigned double wishbone suspension and an intelligent transmission system. With the engine and fuel tank moved closer to the car’s centre of gravity. So you get sharp, responsive handling, less body movement and unwavering stability. And the 5-speed auto gear box has a ‘kick-down’ feature to help you get added power when it’s needed most, whilst still making sure your acceleration is seamlessly smooth
