The Honda Civic brings you dashing good looks and a performance to match. Better still, you won’t need to compromise on running costs, thanks to fuel-efficient engines from Honda.
The Honda Civic’s new aerodynamic design looks fabulous as well as enhancing the car’s fuel efficiency. The 10th-generation Civic has adopted a completely new look and style, and sits 20mm closer to the ground than its predecessor, as well as being 136mm longer and 30mm wider. The front of the new Civic features generous honeycomb-style air intakes beneath the stylised lights, while the bonnet sweeps up to the roof creating a sleek profile, and at the rear the honeycomb pattern is repeated. A spoiler and dual exhausts add to the sporty look. The Honda Civic is available in a choice of six trim levels, starting with the SE and finishing with the range-topping Prestige.
The interior of the Honda Civic has a stylish, sporty feel, with alloy pedals and premium quality finishes throughout. Higher-spec models also get a leather steering wheel.
Roomier than its predecessor, the new Civic’s cabin has plenty of head and legroom for five people to enjoy a comfortable journey. You can keep the temperature just how you want it thanks to dual-zone climate control, and when it gets colder, stay warm with the heated seats in both the front and the rear on higher-spec editions. Light floods into the cabin even on a dull day thanks to the panoramic sunroof. Rear seats fold down in a 60/40 split, allowing you to create even more boot space when you need it up to a maximum of 1,245 litres. The boot is easy to load thanks to the large tailgate, which measures 1,120mm at its widest.
All the vehicle data you need during your journey is available to view on the driver information display, which you can control from a button on the steering wheel. Parking sensors at the front and rear help to make parking easier, and higher-spec editions also get a multiple-view rear parking camera. Electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors are fitted as standard.
The Honda Civic is available with a choice of turbo petrol engines, all employing VTEC valve technology. The 1.0-litre 127bhp engine excels on efficiency, while the 1.5-litre 180bhp engine moves the Civic from 0-60mph in 8.3 seconds. You can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed CVT automatic transmission. A turbo diesel engine is expected to join the line-up during 2017.
The internet-based AHA audio player gives you access to news, music and podcasts, and you can even use it to watch a movie when you’re not on the go. Bluetooth connectivity, an HDMI jack and two USB sockets are also provided, and you can use your smartphone apps and features on the seven-inch touchscreen via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The Civic has a wealth of features designed to make your journeys simpler and safer.
Brake-hold technology allows you to keep the car stationary without engaging the parking brake or keeping your foot on the pedal. At the press of a button you can apply the electronic brake, and it is released as soon as you apply pressure to the accelerator. Motion-adaptive electric power steering gives you precision when you need it and a more relaxed drive when required. Other safety features include ABS, ESC and Forward Collision Warning.
