A polished look and powerful performance make the Fiat Fullback an attractive choice if you are looking for a stylish pickup with high equipment levels and generous capacity, in excess of four tonnes.
The Fullback’s design cleverly combines strength with sophistication. The high stance with skid plates gives a rugged, muscular look to Fiat’s luxury pick-up. There are two trim options for the Fullback – SX and LX. The bold grille extends out to swept-back headlights, which are bi-xenon on the LX trim, and front fog lights are fitted as standard. Stylish colours available include Earth Green, Impulse Blue and Titanium Grey. The SX is fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels, while the LX has 17-inch alloys.
There is no shortage of creature comforts in the cabin, such as ergonomic seats, which are heated and electrically adjustable with leather upholstery in the LX edition. Both trims have a leather steering wheel and gear knob. Air conditioning is fitted as standard on the SX, with dual zone climate control in the LX, while soundproofing in the cabin means your music won’t be disturbed by road or engine noise.
A 2.4-litre diesel engine powers the Fiat Fullback. Choose between a 148bhp output edition and a 178bhp version. The 178bhp engine is available with a six-speed manual gearbox or automatic transmission. All editions have four-wheel drive. The 148bhp engine returns 40.9mpg, has CO2 emissions of 180g/km and has maximum torque of 380 Nm. The 178bhp edition gives you 40.9mpg, emits 186g/km CO2 and has maximum torque of 430Nm with manual transmission, and 37.7mpg and 196g/km CO2 with the automatic gearbox. A 5.9m turning circle means the Fullback is easy to manoeuvre, and traction technology allows you to select the best mode according the conditions of the terrain.
Standard equipment provided in the SX edition includes MP3, radio, CD player and Bluetooth connectivity, while the LX trim adds a six-inch touchscreen with satnav, and the automatic edition also gets paddle shifters.
The Fullback is fitted with seven airbags – two at the front, two at the side, two curtain airbags and one for the driver’s knees. Other safety features include ESC and ABS. Trailer Stability Assist technology gives you optimal stability when you are towing, making adjustments to the distribution of engine power and brake force to each wheel as required. Cruise control with speed limiter function triggers an auditory warning if you accelerate above your selected speed. The LX also features a lane departure warning system, which sets off both visual and auditory warnings if you drift across the lane boundary without indicating when travelling above 40mph.
