01Introducing the DS 7 CrossbackDue to be released in the spring of 2018, the DS 7 is the latest addition to Citroën’s high-end DS range. The French marque has ascribed the vehicle ‘La Première’ tag, which is entirely justified since it’s set to become the brand’s flagship model, as well as its largest SUV. This premium crossover certainly looks the part, but there’s more to it than just its appearance.
02Exciting exteriorThis substantial-looking vehicle boasts an intriguingly angular yet finely drawn design. It features an expansive chrome-trimmed diamond-mesh radiator grille, which is flanked either side by a sleek and sophisticated lighting array. The DS 7 possesses a raised ride height, a coupé-like roofline and side windows that are framed by a chrome-finished surround. At the rear of the vehicle, an elegant rear spoiler forms a natural extension of the car’s roof, while a power-operated tailgate ensures that loading and unloading is as easy to achieve as possible.
05Safety & technologyEach car in the DS range has been awarded a five-star rating by Euro NCAP so it’s more than likely that the DS 7 will too. In addition to a wide range of passive safety features and driver aids, it comes with new technology such as DS Pilot – an advanced form of cruise control. DS Pilot automatically calibrates the vehicle’s velocity in response to the actions of other road users. Furthermore, when travelling at speeds of 112mph or less, it can autonomously guide the vehicle. Two 12-inch touchscreens are included, one of which handles a variety of multimedia features, including satellite navigation, smartphone mirroring and DS-related functionality. The second digital display is devoted to instrumentation and is eminently customisable.
