The fastest car in the Abarth range, the 695 Biposto draws on the design of the Assetto Corse Evoluzione racing car to bring you a truly special driving experience.
Abarth has employed the very latest technology to create the Biposto, from the 18-inch OZ alloy wheels to the Garrett turbo unit. The specialist dual stage exhaust with titanium pipes is supplied by Akrapovic, and the suspension incorporates Extreme Racing Shox springs. The Biposto’s bumpers are aerodynamically designed for enhanced performance and feature carbon inserts. Door mirrors also get smart carbon covers. You can choose to have windows manufactured from specialist polycarbonate. Chosen for its exceptional strength and lightness, this material is usually found in the aerospace industry, and the Biposto is the first production road car to gain approval for polycarbonate windows.
If you are after something even more unusual, take a look at the 695 Biposto Record, a limited-edition model which celebrates the achievements of the company’s founder, Karl Abarth. Available exclusively in Modena Yellow, only 133 units will be produced.
Inside the cabin there is a striking blend of premium quality materials, such as Alcantara upholstery and carbon finishes, with a stripped-out look. The pared-back style gives a real racing feel and more importantly has enhanced the car’s performance by reducing the weight of the original Fiat 500 by 38kg. Most non-essential items have been removed in the name of weight reduction, including door inserts, rear seats, air conditioning and the radio.
Abarth Corsa seats by Sabelt can be fitted with optional four-point harness in place of standard seat belts to keep you secure when you put your foot down on the titanium-finished aluminium sports pedals.
The Biposto’s 1.4-litre turbojet engine delivers 187bhp output, giving a weight-power ratio of 5.2kg/hp. Acceleration from 0-60mph takes just under 6 seconds, and the Biposto can reach a top speed of 143mph. You can expect to get a return of 45mpg with CO2 emissions of 145g/km. You can choose between five-speed manual transmission and a five-speed dog ring gearbox.
With its pared-back interior, there is no infotainment technology in the cabin, but then you don’t buy the Abarth 695 Biposto to listen to your tunes as you saunter through the countryside.
Safety is a priority in the Biposto, with the innovative technology incorporated in the vehicle having been put through rigorous testing to ensure it is suitable for a road vehicle. For example, the polycarbonate windows could not be made available as an option without extensive industry testing.
If you are as fascinated by the Biposto as we are, come and take a look at it in our Yeomans Fiat showroom in Eastbourne. We are open seven days a week and one of our professional Abarth experts will be delighted to arrange a test drive for you straight away.
